Every thing is in boxes!

Hi All, not much crafting going on over the passed couple of weeks or will there be for the next few! Everything had to be boxed and moved now in a much smaller place in the new house. The craft room is packed to the gunals with boxes , I think it will take some time to unpack, find and sort then find space for it all. Sadly I might have to do some rationalising ! Help. I find getting rid of things very difficult as those who kindly helped me move will testerfy !
Watch this space, normal service will resume soon!
To keep you all going , here is the bird house I did for my sister at Christmas which she loved and the gift for Joan my mother in law. The Deer head came free with a magazine but with the addition of a 6'x6' MDF back board I was pleased with the results as was she!

Fabulous Day Crafting with Hel's Sheridan

Back ground , made by dabbing distress ink on to craft mat and spraying with water and wiping the card through it. Then by holding the card parole to mat and tapping it into  droplets left on the mat to produce the blobs.
Using stencils and distress ink and water through them to produce more patterning. Then the edge is distressed with walnut stain.
Then stamped flourishes are added to complete the back ground.

We then had a go at water bleaching using a stamp wet stamp on top of distressed inks
My finished piece was very pleasing I think once bits and bobs we added along with a distressed coloured tim Holtz new butterfly stamp which we decoupage.

Meet Fred the skeleton in Creative Expressions cupboard!

There was a big clear out of the walk-in cupboard in the shop at Kettering , among the things in the pile for the skip was Fred, a child sized plastic skeleton . He may not be anatomically correct but he was crying out for a make over. This is going to be a long on going transformation , as I am only working on him once a month! The rest of the time he sits in the chair my Nanna had made for me aged 5 whilst I decide to do next. Here is where we are so far and a few stages along the way!
Coated in gesso!

Printed tissue added

Flowers added in his pelvics and on acetate In the rib cage,so I can remove to spray and I think add some battery powered fairy lights, then a few other embellishments added to his surface that will be highlighted soon.

Relaxing at home with a hat and wings not yet fixed but I think will be added next time!

Something different! pocket Scrapbooking

Although I have done scrapbooking in the past , I knew nothing about pocket scrapbooking! So for the first time I decided to give it a try this weekend. Went for an amazing class at It's Crafting Time in Shepreth our tutor was Jackie Payne a fab teacher for trying something new and out of your comfort zone.
Pocket scrapbooking  for the uninitiated comes under several brand names, such as Project life ,but it is in fact several pockets making up a 12 x 12 page so that you can do mini pages in each pocket. I think it is definatly something I could get into as despite loving single12x12 pages ,this is a way of getting lots of photos on a single page. I managed to put together two pages although I might just pop a few more embellishments on a couple I think it is nearly there, so I am sharing it with you. It includes a bit of my family history as it contains photos of my paternal grandparents, my dad's siblings and photo's of him as a child, meeting my mother , their wedding , his blacksmithing and my favourite photo of him and I taken on a birthday picnics on the Downs At Diddling.

What can you do with a large peg and a MDF plaque!

At the club I attend in harston each month we have a challenge swap each month, one of us brings in some items which the others pick from and then we bring them back decorated and exchange them the following month. This time I picked a large peg and an mdf plaque !
First I set about it with my trusty glue gun and any flowers, leaves and bits, I could find in the oddments draw. I then covered it completely with white gesso.
Sprayed it next with Phill Martin's new decadent teal cosmic shimmer mister ink , added some matching wax, pva glue and twinkles and topped it off with some of the Cosmic Shimmer sparkle texture paste through a Tim Holts mask on the flat surface of the peg. I then dried brushed it with a little more gesso but as it was still looking a little lack lustre. So I sprayed it with decadent denim misting ink , which I dabbed off with tissue and topped with the matching wax! Which added a bit more depth to it all.

I am quite pleased with the results, I hope whoever ends up with it will like it.
