Something different! pocket Scrapbooking

Although I have done scrapbooking in the past , I knew nothing about pocket scrapbooking! So for the first time I decided to give it a try this weekend. Went for an amazing class at It's Crafting Time in Shepreth our tutor was Jackie Payne a fab teacher for trying something new and out of your comfort zone.
Pocket scrapbooking  for the uninitiated comes under several brand names, such as Project life ,but it is in fact several pockets making up a 12 x 12 page so that you can do mini pages in each pocket. I think it is definatly something I could get into as despite loving single12x12 pages ,this is a way of getting lots of photos on a single page. I managed to put together two pages although I might just pop a few more embellishments on a couple I think it is nearly there, so I am sharing it with you. It includes a bit of my family history as it contains photos of my paternal grandparents, my dad's siblings and photo's of him as a child, meeting my mother , their wedding , his blacksmithing and my favourite photo of him and I taken on a birthday picnics on the Downs At Diddling.

What can you do with a large peg and a MDF plaque!

At the club I attend in harston each month we have a challenge swap each month, one of us brings in some items which the others pick from and then we bring them back decorated and exchange them the following month. This time I picked a large peg and an mdf plaque !
First I set about it with my trusty glue gun and any flowers, leaves and bits, I could find in the oddments draw. I then covered it completely with white gesso.
Sprayed it next with Phill Martin's new decadent teal cosmic shimmer mister ink , added some matching wax, pva glue and twinkles and topped it off with some of the Cosmic Shimmer sparkle texture paste through a Tim Holts mask on the flat surface of the peg. I then dried brushed it with a little more gesso but as it was still looking a little lack lustre. So I sprayed it with decadent denim misting ink , which I dabbed off with tissue and topped with the matching wax! Which added a bit more depth to it all.

I am quite pleased with the results, I hope whoever ends up with it will like it.

Brilliant class of ladies at Blitz and Glitz in Rawreth Today.

I Have had a fab day at Blitz and Glitz in Rawreth today , Sharon Hopkins and her ladies made me very welcome for an MDF heart class.
My samples to help inspire the ladies
We all had a good time first we practiced on a notebook so that the ladies got ideas of colour combinations and and could get the hang of the technics
Then we set to work on the mdf hearts, the ladies all used different colours and produced fabulous individual results which  they all should be very proud of.

Looking forward to my next visit in April and meeting more lovely ladies.

Albrights of Diss Class - 12 th March

Great fun was had by all at Albrights of Diss, I met several of Gloria's lovely customers.
My sample used as inspiration by the class.
We used MDF shapes with the Cosmic shimmer range of chalk and shimmer paints, stamps by Phil Martin, justrite .
Technics used were inspired by Trish Lattimer class I did last year. We painted the background with our fingers then used credit cards and container tops to produce a paint decoration. A  few " special touch masks and finished with polished silk glitter on double sided adhesive covered card shapes.

The beautiful results produced by the class, all very different but everyone fabulous in their own way. In the actual class we used Sue Wilsons cornflower, Enjoy word die, mini pearl swirls and small clear dazzlers all from Creative Expressions.

Sprinkle Twinkle - Kings Lynn class on the 9th March

The class was using embossing powder as resist with distress inks. I introduced the ladies (and a gentleman) to the wonder of the new "Smoothies" from creative Expressions for blending the distressing inks. They loved them! One lady who looked in horror when I said we would be using distressing inks because she had never been able to blend them, she had sever dexterity problems due to serve artritus and carpal tunnel. However is loved the Smoothies so much she brought 4 packs! Allowing her one for each primary colour plus Browns and black!
Below is my original card.

HEARTS

Right here goes!

My piece that appeared in the creative expressions project book no3!

Hi,
After much nagging from various quarters I have got around to starting a Crafting blog! I have craft in my blood being fathered by a silver Medal winning Master Blacksmith and a very talented mother. I studded art and life drawing at Highworth school for Girls in Ashford Kent, before going on to Medway collage of Art to become a designer , craftsmen in Jewelry.

I then did the normal Married, had my beautiful daughter, divorced went to work in sales whilst continuing with numerous and various crafts, married had my very handsome adorable son . moved to Cambridgeshire , started breeding gorgeous Ragdoll cats .Then two years ago found my dream job working as a sales manager for Creative expressions, which allows me to combined my love of craft with meeting and selling brilliant craft products to wonderful craft orientated people! As well as getting the chance to use new and interesting products that i can rave about to retailers and fellow crafters  at every opportunity!

As I now find my self on the point of divorce again! I and my cats will be moving and i should have more time on my hands so I now resolve to post at least once a week a project on this blog and on my sister blog available through my Ragdoll website www.tzkatz.co.uk!
